How to reward yourself after a difficult task

How not to reward yourself after a difficult task is to immediately move on after you do it. That’s what I would do, and later I would wonder why I always had to use some much effort to do it.

What I try to do now is to take time after the task to savour my accomplishment. I think positively about what I did and reward myself with positive talk. If that sounds dumb, ask yourself: do you “reward” yourself afterwards with negative self talk? Because THAT is dumb. (Also neutral talk is not much better: it’s the “bread and water” of self talk).
