You can easily find lots of articles on what to do when you go to New York City. Having visited many times myself, I think this article, Gridskipper: 18 Steps to Having a Good First Trip to New York, is one of the better ones.
Rules like “Fear Not the Subway” and “Get the Hell out of Midtown” and “Identify and Avoid Freaks” are excellent pieces of advice, and just three of eighteen good tips. Go read the article, then go to NYC.

Hi,
I am looking for advice on visiting NYC for a one-day urban hike Saturday – Brooklyn Bridge and The High Line. My family and I plan to drive in from CT (cheaper than the train for 6), park and use public transportation between the two sites. Where should we park? Which first – BB or HL? Great lunch spot between the two? Thanks!
Sorry, Katy, I am not that familiar with NYC. I wish I was.
Thanks for the uppercase aggregation! I real wanted the way you possess put this in a chaffer type of environs. Your article was truly effortless to translate! Thanks again!
