The Carolina Chocolate Drops are great. The Chieftains are great. Put ’em together, and you have something really great. Here they are burning through Pretty Little Girl on Later with Jools Holland.
When I first heard the Carolina Chocolate Drops, I thought they sounded Celtic as much as anything. Seeing them pair up with the Chieftains is a natural fit. (They’re from the U.S. and their music is Carolina folk.) More on them here and from their web site here, which has lots of good stuff, including many live performances.
