Great Friday night music: Never Forget You by the Noisettes

I am an instant fan of this song from the Noisettes.

The video and the band has such great style, too. As I was listening to it (and looking at the Karmann Ghia car), I thought: this reminds me of girl groups of the 50s and 60s. If you are not familiar with them, check out the Ronettes, the Shangri-las and others — including my favourites, Martha and the Vandellas — in this medley here:

I’d be remiss without sending a “thanks!” to the blog for highlighting this. Check out this: it’s choc full of good things from Stacy.

  2. B, great selection; I really like this song. Sooo perfect for the long, mind-clearing coastal drives of the summer… the lightness of the music is free and happy. It’s funny, the group’s sound and the lead singer’s voice remind me of much yet she sounds like no one today. Thanks for the connect.

thanks! It IS a great driving song: hadn’t thought of that. And good point: she is both familiar (like the 60s singers) but unique. V cool!

Its not a Karmann Ghia, its a 356 Porsche Speedster. This is a classic car from the 50’s and not to be mistaken for any other! Apart from that, i agree with the rest lol, great tune…

Thanks for that correction! That’s why I like blogging to (and talking to)…well, smart people: I end up getting smarter!
